नीब करौरी बाबा 
नीब करौरी बाबा या नीम करौरी बाबा या महाराजजी (१९००-११ सितंबर १९७३) की गणना बीसवीं शताब्दी के सबसे महान संतों में होती है।[5]इनका जन्म स्थान ग्राम अकबरपुर जिला फ़िरोज़ाबाद उत्तर प्रदेश है जो कि हिरनगाँव से 1किलोमीटर मीटर दूरी पर है।

कैंची, नैनीताल, भुवाली से ७ कि॰मी॰ की दूरी पर भुवालीगाड के बायीं ओर स्थित है। कैंची मन्दिर में प्रतिवर्ष १५ जून को वार्षिक समारोह मानाया जाता है। उस दिन यहाँ बाबा के भक्तों की विशाल भीड़ लगी रहती है। महाराजजी इस युग के भारतीय दिव्यपुरुषों में से हैं। श्री नीम करोली बाबा को हम महाराज जी कहते है|
जीवन 
उनका जन्म एक धनी ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ, ११ वर्ष की उम्र में उनके माता-पिता द्वारा शादी कर दिए जाने के बाद, उन्होंने साधु बनने के लिए घर छोड़ दिया। बाद में वह अपने पिता के अनुरोध पर, वैवाहिक जीवन जीने के लिए घर लौट आए। वह दो बेटों और एक बेटी के पिता बने।[11]
ऐसा माना जाता है कि जब तक महाराजजी १७ वर्ष के थे उनको इतनी छोटी सी आयु मे सारा ज्ञान था| बताते है , भगवान श्री हनुमान उनके गुरु है| उन्होंने भारत में कई स्थानों का दौरा किया और विभिन्न राज्यों में अलग-अलग नामों से जाने जाते थे। गंजम में मां तारा तारिणी शक्ति पीठ की यात्रा के दौरान स्थानीय लोगों ने उन्हें हनुमानजी, चमत्कारी बाबा के नाम से संबोधित किया करते थे।
कहा जाता है कि एक बार बाबा ट्रेन में सफर कर रहे थे।लेकिन उनके पास टिकट नहीं था। जिस कारण टीटी अफसर ने उन्हें पकड़ लिया। बिना टिकट होने के कारण अफसर ने उन्हें अगले स्टेशन में उतरने को कहा।स्टेशन का नाम नीम करोली था।स्टेशन के पास के गांव को नीम करोली के नाम से जाना जाता है। बाबा को गाड़ी से उतार दिया गया और ऑफिसर ने ड्राइवर से गाड़ी चलाने का आदेश दिया। बाबा वहां से कहीं नहीं गए। उन्होंने ट्रेन के पास ही एक चिमटा धरती पर लगाकर बैठ गए।[12]
चालक ने बहुत प्रयास किया लेकिन ट्रेन आगे ना चली। ट्रेन आगे ना चलने का नाम ही नहीं ले रही थी। तभी गाड़ी में बैठे सभी लोगों ने कहा यह बाबा का प्रकोप है।उन्हें गाड़ी से उतार देने का कारण ही है कि गाड़ी नहीं चल रही है। तभी वहां बड़े ऑफिसर जो कि बाबा से परिचित थे। उन्होंने बाबा से क्षमा मांगी और ड्राइवर और टिकट चेकर दोनों को बाबा से माफी मांगने को कहा।सब ने मिलकर बाबा को मनाया और उनसे माफी मांगी। माफी मांगने के बाद बाबा ने सम्मानपूर्वक ट्रेन पर बैठ गए। लेकिन उन्होंने यह शर्त रखी कि इस जगह पर स्टेशन बनाया जाएगा।जिससे वहां के गांव के लोग को ट्रेन में आने के लिए आसानी हो जाए क्योंकि वहां लोग आने के लिए मिलो दूर से चलकर आते थे। तब जाकर ट्रेन में बैठ पाते थे।उन्होंने बाबा से वादा किया और वहां पर नीम करोली नाम का स्टेशन बन गया। यहीं से बाबा की चमत्कारी कहानियां प्रसिद्ध हो गई और इस स्थान से पूरी दुनिया में बाबा का नाम नीम करोली बाबा के नाम से जाना जाने लगा।यही से बाबा को नीम करोली नाम मिला था|

Neem Karoli Baba, known at the time as Baba Lakshman Das (also spelled "Laxman Das"), left his home in 1958. Ram Dass tells a story that Baba Lakshman Das boarded a train without a ticket and the conductor decided to halt the train and forced him out of the train in Neem Karoli village of Farrukhabad district (U.P). After forcing Baba off the train, the conductor found that the train would not start again. After several attempts at starting the train, someone suggested to the conductor that they allow the sadhu back on to the train. Neem Karoli agreed to board the train on two conditions: 1) the railway company promise to build a station in the village of Neem Karoli (at the time the villagers had to walk many miles to the nearest station), and 2) the railway company must henceforth treat ascetics better. The officials agreed and Neem Karoli Baba boarded the train joking, "What, is it up to me to start trains?" Immediately after his boarding the train, it started, but the train drivers would not proceed unless the sadhu blessed them to move forward. Baba gave his blessings and the train proceeded. Later a train station was built in the village.Baba lived in the village for a while and was named by locals.
Thereafter he wandered extensively throughout Northern India. During this time he was known under many names, including: Lakshman Das, Handi Wallah Baba, and Tikonia Walla Baba. When he did tapasya and sadhana at Vavania village of Morbi in Gujarat, he was known as Tallaiya Baba. In Vrindavan, local inhabitants addressed him by the name of Chamatkari Baba ("miracle baba").[7] During his life two main ashrams were built, at Kainchi and at Vrindavan.[1] In time, over 100 temples were constructed in his name
The Kainchi Dham Ashram
The Kainchi Dham ashram, where he stayed in the last decade of his life, was built in 1964 with a Hanuman temple. It started two years prior with a modest platform built for two local sadhus, Premi Baba and Sombari Maharaj to perform yagnas. Over the years the temple, situated 17 km from Nainitla on the Nainital-almora road, has become an important pilgrimage for locals, as well as spiritual seekers and devotees worldwide. Each year on June 15, the Kainchi Dham Bhandara takes place to commemorate the inauguration of the temple, a celebration that typically receives over 100,000 devotees.
